The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene (formerly the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate) is a first level course incorporating fundamental food hygiene knowledge for all food handlers. The programme covers a syllabus based on the the following 7 topics :

The duration of the course is 7 hours. Candidates are assessed by a test of 30 multiple choice questions, successful completion of which leads to award of the qualification. This will give customers and those involved in the industry confidence in your organisation and its standards of hygiene.

The CIEH Foundation Certificate is an ideal first course for employees and employers already working in a role that requires them to handle or prepare food, or for those seeking employment in the industry.
